Palisades Donates Thousands to Help Local Students

Every year, Entergy’s Palisades Power Plant helps thousands of Southwest Michigan students start the school year off right. This summer, Palisades donated $17,000 to provide more than 1,650 Van Buren County students with backpacks full of school supplies. Palisades began a new program this year taking six Van Buren and Berrien County families on a back-to-school shopping spree. Palisades’ employee Bobby Walker started Shop with a Palisades’ Employee as a way to give back after receiving help when he was a child. “When I was in third grade, the school that I was going to purchased school clothes for me, and what a big difference it made in my life.” Eddie Polk, a senior maintenance planner at Palisades, added, “When you work for a company that shares the same values and goes beyond the business part of it in the community...I love it.”
